Crisis and job search : two cases of psychoanalytic psychotherapy

Abstract

The paper presents two psychoanalytic psychotherapy interventions in employment crisis periods. Currently employment services consider the individual as inadequate and lacking something, and consistently provide knowledge and techniques. The authors, on the other hand, propose to build settings dealing with clients’ emotions as an essential resource to rethink job career issues, thus providing new meaning to work experiences and envisaging alternative career paths.
