Between chronicity and desire. An experience of clinical psychological intervention within Mental Health Services

Abstract

After the closure of asylums, in Italy the organization of local services has led to change the care system of psychiatric disorders. Thirty years after this closure, new problems emerge. The article is a report on a clinical psychological intervention in a psychiatric day care center. This intervention starts up from a traineeship in which clinical psychology and psychotherapy as useful resources to understand and intervene with phenomena such as crisis, chronicity, medicalization.
